DX Commander verticals

Actually a fan dipole concept turned 90*, I've run the older Rapide (7m fiberglass pushup pole with 10m, 20m, and loaded 40m elements, 15m resonant on the 40m element), the Classic (10m pole, all bands, 80m is inverted L), and now the Signature (12m pole, all bands, 80m is a coil wrapped around the pole). It took me awhile to build the first one - had to figure out what the heck I was doing, but the later builds were quicker. Tuning can be laborious if you want to get it spot-on, but following the instructions will get you probably 2:1 or lower swr on all bands.

DX Commander Signature (black pole). Pole at the right/back has a discone on top and the feed point for a 130' long EFHW.

Callum has done a lot of experimentation, and his usual advice on radials is more shorter ones if you're pressed for space, with an ideal having length be 10% or so of your longest band. In my case that is 80m so most of my radial bundles are 8m long give or take. Not a perfect circle, have to work around some things on the ground, and you can add as you go. I started with about 30 or so, now up to 70.
