Rolls Ballari RP 533 Pre amp / Studio tube multi processor for a little Voodoo Jazz

Of all the preamps I've tried the Rolls Ballari RP 533 really stands out and adds some Voodoo harmonics to your rack along with the warm sound of tubes. It has a preamp section that also includes a 48 volt phantom power if needed, a compressor and a sonic exciter with bottom and clarity controls. Its a true tube preamp that runs 250 volts on the plates and the compressor and exciter section also runs on a 12AX7 at 250 volts adding that soft silkiness tube sound to the audio. Plenty of mods can be done to this unit along with changing the 12AX7's to the RCA 5751 Command NOS tubes to add a warmer low end sound.  The frequency response is from 20Hz to 40KHz with the noise floor at -90db. Input Impedance is 600 Ohms balanced and has XLR and TRS inputs and outputs. It's a nice looking unit with a dual purpose analog meter and plenty of knobs.  I've found running the compressor with a long release and fast attack along with adjusting the bottom end control of the exciter just right and using the compressor as a tone control will produce a nice Jazzy sound to the low end. Price range new is around $500.

Here's a link to the WZ5Q Voodoo site for more information and the how to do the mods.
